Sawdust Art and Craft Festival In the flyer designed for the Sawdust Art and Craft Festival, I focused around color, the lettering, and pictures to bring attention to the flyer. This flyer is aimed for artistic persons, who are interested in purchasing or submitting an art/craft project. The flyer was also made to associate the event with a particular place, Laguna Beach, California. I used red, green, brown, and black as my main colors. I concentrated on these four colors because the website had these colors in the logo on the website. I wanted to keep the colors consistent with the company and traditional, because I want people to associate this event and company with these colors. In addition, I used a picture of Laguna Beach as the background, because this is where the event will be taking place. I wanted to use a beautiful picture so it would reflect the beauty of art that will be submitted into the festival. I believe if a person sees where the event will be taking place it will also spike interest to attend the event. Laguna Beach is a place where people can relax while viewing the art on display. It could also be a very great place for the family to spend some time together after the festival. I used the fonts to attract attention the flyer. Sawdust was purposely made to be the biggest word on the flyer, because I think the word “SAWDUST” is very interesting and yet questionable. Someone would want to read more into what type of event would have that type of name. I did not want to fill the letters with too much color because it was hard to read with the light background. Finally, I used pictures to show what type of art could be at the festival. This way it can attract several populations of people with different artistic interest. The final picture I used was to correlate it to the title. This man is actually using a saw to create are into a large piece of wood. So, if someone did not want to read the information they would still get an idea of what type of event this is.
